Stegodon was a genus of elephants from Asia during the Pliocene and Pleistocene. They had very long tusks so close together that the trunk could not fit between them and would have had to drape over one side or the other. Some species approached the size of a Columbian mammoth, others migrated to various Indonesian islands and became dwarfs.
