Howler Monkeys in GURPS

Alouatta sp.

Howler monkeys are powerfully built and shaggy monkeys with a prehensile tail. They move about the forest canopy with deliberation. These monkeys eat mostly leaves, supplemented with some fruit, nuts, flowers, and buds. Leaves are poor forage, so howler monkeys spend much of their time resting to allow them to digest their food.

Howler monkeys live in small groups of a few males and several females. Both sexes leave their natal groups to seek out new groups. Howler monkeys communicate by very loud howls which can be heard for over 30 km.
