Mountain tapirs live the the Andes of Columbia and Ecuador, in the past their rnage may have extended further along the Andes Mountains. They primarily inhabit cloud forests and alpine tundras. They are very dark in color, with wooly fur. The lips are white, and the face a lighter color of brown. Males mark their territory with urine, dung piles, and by rubbing trees.
