Pygmy Rabbits in GURPS

Brachylagus idahoensis

Pygmy rabbits live in the sagebrush-dominated scrub-steppe environment of North America's Inland Northwest, confined to areas with deep soil. They maintain escape trackways through sagebrush and will dig burrows as well as sagebrush for shelter. Burrows are generally at the base of sagebrush plants and can be extensive, with enlarged chambers and multiple entrances. In winter with a thick snow cover, they make and use tunnels under the snow. Pygmy rabbits are reluctant to enter open spaces. They scamper along their pathways and seldom leap. Sagebrush makes up the majority of their diet, but other plant food is also taken. Pygmy rabbits are the world's smallest rabbits.
