Addax

Addax nasomaculatus

The addax is a rangy, knobbly-legged antelope with magnificent ridged and spiral-twisted horns. Its color ranges from grey-brown in winter to light sandy-white in summer. It is found in the Sahara, and is highly adapted to that desolate and arid region. Addaxes never need to drink, obtaining all their water from the vegetation they eat. Addaxes move about in small to medium sized herds led by a single male.
