Alopiid Sharks in GURPS

Alopiid, or thresher, sharks are closely related to the lamnid sharks. Like the lamnids, they are active, warm blooded predators of cooler waters. Their main distictive feature is an enormously long tail. There is evidence that they use this tail as their primary weapon when hunting - whip-like lashes of the tail are used to stun prey, which are then devoured at the shark's leisure. They also use their tail to herd schooling fish into tight groups - all the more easily to swat a few with tail swipes. Threshers are often caught on fishhooks by being hooked through the tail - aparently they tried to tail whip the bait, or fish that had been previously caught.

The radio button entries in the table above give realistic sizes of the species of that row. If you want a specimen outside that range, enter the weight in kg manually.

Marking the T? checkbox will give you the stats in template form with all costs listed, otherwise you get a stat sheet as for a character.

Marking the HR? checkbox will print the information using all my house rules. Otherwise, the stats will be as compatable with plain vanilla GURPS as possible (although several custom advantages and disadvantages will be present, see my Traits page).
